André Louw
André Louw – Managing Director – ProEx, Australia & New Zealand

For more than 14 years, André has provided specialist insurance broking, risk consulting and claims services to corporations and firms from a wide range of industries. He has particular experience in mergers, acquisitions and capital raising.

André holds postgraduate qualifications in law and business administration in addition to his formal insurance qualifications.

He also practiced as a solicitor, specialising in professional and public liability before entering the insurance industry.

Andrew Langley
Andrew Langley – General Manager, Business Development

Andrew has more than 30 years insurance broking experience (the last 10 of which have been with JLT).

During that time he has been involved in the design, placement and administration of insurance programmes for various major industrial and commercial organisations.

Deb Robson
Deb Robson – Manager – Business Development

Deb Robson has over 20 years insurance experience, 15 of those were gained working in the UK insurance market. Deb joined JLT in 2002 as Business Development Manager.

George Murdocca
George Murdocca – Manager – Business Development and Divisional Manager – Corporate Risks

George has more than 35 years insurance broking experience (the last 17 of which have been with JLT).

During that time George has specialised in placement of insurance and reinsurance programs for major corporate and public sector clients.

George has also been responsible for the design, placement and servicing of a wide range of corporate insurances programs for major national and international accounts.

Simon Tait
Simon Tait – Manager – Business Development

Simon has worked in the insurance Industry for 35 years including 10 years in the United Kingdom as the Managing Director of a Broking House. During his career he has provided consulting and broking services to a wide variety of Public and Private Companies in Australia and the United Kingdom where he has held senior postions. He has particular expertise in the Mining Industry.

Andrew Nicholl
Andrew Nicholl – General Manager, Retail – Victoria

Andrew joined JLT Melbourne in July 2004 as Divisional Director, Corporate Division. He was promoted to General Manager, Retail – Victoria in January 2007. Andrew has worked in the insurance industry for over 26 years. His experience spans the insurance spectrum, having held senior roles within a number of international broking houses, spent a period as global business manager for a major international composite insurer, and held the role of risk manager for a major multi disciplined engineering and construction company.

Bill Callan
Bill Callan – Divisional Manager, Corporate Risks

Bill is responsible for the overall management of the Victorian Corporate Risks division. He has over 25 years experience within the Insurance industry both in Australia and overseas and has held senior roles within a number of international and national broking houses, specialising in the design of insurance programmes for the Corporate sector.

Rakesh has more than 30 years experience in the insurance industry, including 20 years working with international broking companies in Australia servicing local and global corporate clients, including universities, private schools, information and communication technology companies, manufacturers, importers, marketers and churches.

Jan Gwilym
Jan Gwilym – Manager – Trade Credit

Jan has over 30 years experience in the credit insurance industry having held both broking and underwriting positions in Australia and the U.K.

Jan currently heads up the Victoria Trade Credit operation and is active on a national basis, including client service and business development.

Brian Alcock
Brian Alcock – Divisional Manager

Brian has been with JLT for 39 years. Throughout this period, he has been responsible for the servicing requirements for a diverse range of businesses, in particular, with a major focus on Food and Beverage accounts.

Murray Turner
Murray Turner – Divisional Manager

Murray has had in excess of 30 years’ industry experience, both in broking and underwriting, within Australia and overseas. Murray has been with JLT for 15 years. He has had account responsibility in various industry segments, including: mining, contracting, steel, paper, brewery, dairy, chemicals, motor vehicle, industrial supplies and agriculture and, in more recent times, specialising in forestry. Account management has included Australian based multi national world-wide programmes. Overseas placements have included London, New York and Los Angeles insurance markets.

South Australia

Tony Venning
Tony Venning – General Manager, JLT Retail Adelaide

Tony has been in the insurance industry for over 15 years and joined JLT in April 2000. Tony has experience both as an underwriter and broker trading in the Australian, London, US, Bermudan and European Insurance markets.

Originally based our of JLT Melbourne where he was responsible for Affinity programmes including JLT’s highly successful division JLT Sport, Tony has spent the last 4 years in our London head office responsible for our global sport and entertainment initiatives. Tony has recently been transferred to Adelaide to run JLT’s South Australian retail operation.

Tony has significant experience in designing innovative risk transfer programmes using traditional insurance methods and alternative vehicles such as Discretionary Trusts, Protected Cell Companies and Captive based solutions.

Tony is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker (QPIB), a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and holds a Diploma in Financial Services.

Peter Sasopoulos
Peter Sasopoulos – Divisional Manager

Peter Sasopoulos has 30 years experience in the insurance industry, gained both as an underwriter and broker. He joined JLT in 2000 and currently manages large global entities whose operations are both here in Australia and in overseas territories. Peter is the account chairman on Adelaide Bank and Adtrans.

John’s career spans over 30 years, the majority of which has been spent working with international insurance brokers in both a servicing and new business role. John is experienced in all aspects of providing risk solutions to major corporate. He joined JLT in 2006 as the Queensland General Manager.

Johnnie Macleod
Johnnie Macleod – Branch Manager – Gold Coast

Johnnie has more than 22 years insurance experience in the South African, London and Australian markets in both broking and underwriting.

He has an Advanced Diploma in Financial Services (Insurance Broking), is a Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).

Steve Thomas
Steve Thomas – Executive Director, WA Retail

Steve has over 28 years of experience in managing complex accounts for leading multinationals and corporations in Australia. His areas of expertise include construction, mining and major corporate. In 1986, he joined JLT and has played a pivotal role in developing JLT corporate business, having led major projects in Indonesia and Australia before holding his current position as Chief Executive of JLT Western Australia.
