You will no doubt be aware of the introduction to Federal Parliament on the 25th November of legislation relating to the Federal Government’s guarantee of bank deposits for the three years from 01 December 2008 to 30 November 2011. We can confirm that at least for the foreseeable future the first $1m of your JDT trust bank account deposits falls within the prescribed limit and is therefore fully guaranteed by the Australian Government at no cost to the Promoter, Members or the Trust itself.
Important notice
You must notify any potential claim or claim as soon as possible but at the latest within the six (6) month period after the expiry of the Fund Period, otherwise it cannot be considered by the Trustee. The limitation when notice must be given does not apply to claims under the Insurance Cover. You may lodge such a claim for an event which occurs while you are a Member and it will be subject to the Insurer’s policy terms and conditions and relevant legislation.
