What are your PestWISE choices?
You can choose from two types of cover:
- Option 1 Cover: Timber Pest Damage
Up to a maximum of $100,000 for all reasonable repair cost claims during the Policy Period
Excess $1,000 each and every loss
- Option 2 Cover: Timber Pest Damage & Treatment of Active Timber Pests

and
- Treatment of Active Timber Pests
Up to a maximum of $10,000 for all reasonable treatment cost claims during the Policy Period

PestWISE cover is available if you:
- Own a free standing House
- Hold a Pest Inspection Report recording an acceptable Risk Score and issued by timber pest inspector appropriately accredited by Reporting Systems Australia Pty Ltd (“Accredited Consultant”), within the previous 180 days. (RSA can help you find out who the accredited consultant is in your area)
What Timber Pests does PestWISE cover?*
PestWISE covers four key Timber Pests which attack Timber and affect its structural properties.
Termites
Wood destroying insects belonging to the order “Isoptera” which commonly attack seasoned Timber.
Wood Borers
Wood destroying insects belonging to the order “Coleoptera” which commonly attack seasoned Timber.
Fungal Decay
The microbiological degradation of Timber caused by soft rot fungi and decay fungi, but does not include mould, which is a type of fungus that does not structurally damage wood.
Chemical Delignification
The breakdown of Timber through chemical action.

How does PestWISE work
The whole process takes place on line: no application or proposal forms or waiting for paperwork from your insurer.
Three Easy Steps
Step 1: Arrange a Timber Pest Inspection
- Arrange an accredited pest inspector to inspect your property. Details of Accredited Consultant in your area can be found at RSA web site, simply log on and enter in your postcode for a current listing. All Accredited Consultant are authorised by Report Systems Australia Pty Ltd (RSA). An Accredited Consultant meets the Insurers strict standards.
- If your home has been assessed at the acceptable risk level you may be eligible for PestWISE.
- Request your accredited consultant to lodge your inspection report with us.
Step 2: Apply for Cover
- Apply and pay on line.
- Read policy wording and product disclosure statement.
- Read the other important information
Step 3: Cover Confirmed
- After your online application is accepted, the 12 month Policy Period will start from the date of the Accredited Consultant's Inspection.
- Your Policy Schedule and Wording can be downloaded from our PestWISE web site.
- At the end of the 12 month Policy Period, you can't renew the Policy, but if you want to continue to be covered by Timber Pest Damage Insurance, arrange another approved Pest Inspection Report before the policy expiry date and follow the same online process.
- You cannot cancel the Policy or receive a refund of the premium you pay at any time during the Policy Period, (other than the Cooling Off Period).
- If you sell your home during the policy period, the policy will automatically transfer to the new owner. Imagine being able to sell your property with the added draw card that it is covered for Timber Pest Attack by an insurance policy.
What does peace of mind cost?
The cost in each State is inclusive of Stamp Duty and GST.
